This website has been very quiet for the last few months, but it’s because I’ve been working on several exciting projects that are finally coming to fruition. For my first theater project at Yale, I have been writing incidental music for a production of Martin McDonagh’s play The Pillowman. The score is entirely electroacoustic, a synthesis of sounds and musical instruments that establishes the play’s dark, murky atmosphere. There’s a fair bit of music in the play, not only between scenes, but music is also used to emphasize certain dramatic moments so it should be very exciting!
I also made a short trailer for the production which you can view below. McDonagh’s play is a pitch-black comedy about a writer who is interrogated about the gruesome content of his short stories. Note that the play contains mature content.
Performances at 9pm on November 5, 6, and 7 at the Saybrook Underbrook Theater. Free tickets can be reserved here.
